DeRemote for Denon and Marantz App Reviews

This app does not let you see what station you are playing nor can you navigate thru it. I do not recommend.

Updates are few and far between. Stability is miserable long term.

Works great and I can control all functions on my system. Just little expensive but worth it.

I like Denon receivers a lot, but unfortunately their remote controls and (more importantly) soft remotes are quite bad. With this great app, I can control and view most of the receivers numerous modes easily and elegantly. Unless Denon greatly improves its products usability, if this app werent available, I wouldnt buy another Denon.

You cannot change any of the pandora stations! Stick with the glitch ridden marantz free app I guess....

I am impressed with this app to say the least. So far everything works perfectly. Everything Ive asked it to do-its done it without a hitch. Someone mentioned it doesnt change the channel for Pandora but I have not found that to be a problem. I have the Marantz 1605 which unfortunately comes with a non-backlit remote control. Now I have all the controls lit up like a Christmas tree with this app on my iPad. Having all the options on this app has breathed even more new life to my receiver. I have no buyers remorse whatsoever. Im really enjoying this app!

This is exactly what I was looking for! Great app to control surround and channel levels WHILE you are listening to your music, movie, or TV show.

There was an article a while back in one of the A/V magazines that mentioned this app in relation to the Marantz AV8801. They too thought it was a "must have" and a steal at the price. I dont usually buy apps (or write reviews for that matter) but this one exceeded expectations and they have great support too. Really opens up the processor to make the inner workings very accessible. Tremendous help to have so much adjustment and on the fly and control in an easy to use interface.

I have used the app for several years. The latest build has issues, cant connect,and my configuration changes daily .

Its inability to interact with Pandora (thumbs up/thumbs down) makes this app simply useless. I was looking for something that allowed me to do, at the very least, the same I already do with my remote. This is definitely not it.

You cant see the Internet radio on it. You have to have the TV on. With the denon app I can control Internet radio without having to power on my tv screen. Not worth the money.

I just hooked up my "new" Denon AVP-A1HDCI preamp/processor and grabbed DeRemote. I am thrilled with the level of control on my iPhone 6 plus and my iPad2. You can do virtually everything and it has sped up my learning curve on this awesome processor. Its logically laid out and responds instantly. Its helped me to fine just the right settings for music and movies but goes far beyond that with tweaking Audyssey settings, individual speakers levels, customizing input names and port assignments and so much more. Five bucks... Worth every penny and then some. Im a software engineer and this is a solid app.

After downloading Denons own app, I was pretty dissapointed at how weak it was. You cant access any of the useful settings. I find myself having to use the remote the majority of the time. Decided to try this app out, and all I have to say is WOW! Night and day with this app. Blows away the Denon app. I love that I can access every setting without having to turn the TV on. This app will blow you away. You can do everything from it. Its only 4.99, and I would gladly pay more. I also like when I looked at the version history that they are always updating the app. I feel confident the investment in the app will last a long time.

I bought a mint condition Denon AVR 1912 from eBay. Everything works and everything came with it except the remote, so I had to download Denons official app. Its convenient and free, but slow, buggy and has limited features. DeRemote, however, is 10x better than the official Denon app. Way more features, A LOT faster and very stable. It has never crashed on me in the 4 months Ive had it. Its absolutely worth the 5 bucks; maybe even more. My only complaint is I wish there was a way to disable the "shake to mute" feature.* Since I use the app as my only means of controlling my receiver sometimes I sorta just drop my phone on the couch like I would a remote and accidentally mute the receiver. Not so bad when casually listening to music or TV, but bad and fairly embarrassing when in the middle of a loud action scene and the receiver cranked up to reference level with guest over. Other than that, the app is perfect. *UPDATE: Theres now a way to disable the "shake to mute" feature, so now this app is totally perfect. Highly recommended!

I have a new Marantz 8801 Pre/Pro and although the free Marantz app works pretty good, I find this one nicer, more complete. It is also more complex, and not all of it is needed or used. I would like to be able to remove the sections I don’t use. It is nice to be able to remote the zones too, I can run things from the patio, nice.

I just found out about this app on one of my audio forums. I realized that there is a Marantz board in the McIntosh, and low and behold I can control everything in the onscreen menus and remote from this app. I cant live without this now. I hope it always supports McIntosh, or the model that McIntosh shares tech with!

If you have a Marantz that this app works with, just buy the app. It does everything Marantzs app should do but doesnt. Its simply a great app. (Im using it with an SR7009.)

This is a fantastic remote. The only complaint is that I cant turn the volume and energy display on the TV off. The display appears every time I adjust the volume up or down.

Most the time it is not working because can not connect to the Denon. Do not buy this app. It is not wort any $ when it is not working as it should!
